고현서 (the “Operator”) operates Dasom (us.or.kr) and establishes and publishes this Privacy Policy to protect users’ personal information under the Personal Information Protection Act (개인정보 보호법) and to handle related complaints promptly.
The Operator processes personal information only for the purposes below. If a purpose changes, the Operator will take the necessary measures, such as obtaining separate consent under Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
| Category | Items | When and how we receive them |
|---|---|---|
| Required Google sign-in | Google account identifier, email address and whether it is verified, name, profile photo URL (if provided) | Received from Google when you sign up or sign in with Google. The permissions we request are email and basic profile. |
| Required Kakao sign-in | Kakao member number, profile nickname, profile image URL, email address (if the user agreed to provide it) | Received from Kakao when you sign up or sign in with Kakao. |
| Required Using the service | Name shown to your partner (initially your sign-in name, up to 20 characters), the day you met, birthday (year, month and day of birth), the two linked accounts and when they were linked, invite codes with their creator, expiry time, and who used them and when | Entered by the user or created by the service during first setup and when inviting and linking. |
| Required Personal settings | When to be notified (7 days before, the day before, on the day) and the time for each, reminders set for an individual day (up to three per day, each a day from the day itself to 30 days before, with a time), per-day notification muting, the wording shown in notifications, the day pinned to your home, the language of screens and notifications (Korean or English) | Created with default values at sign-up and changed by the user in Settings. Reminders for an individual day are set on the screen for adding or editing that day. The language is saved as the language of the screen you first signed in on (your device language if you had not chosen one) and changes when you choose a language on the first screens or in Settings. |
| Optional If entered | The nickname you call your partner (up to 20 characters); for days you add yourself, the title, date, whether it repeats, how it is counted (Nth birthday or Nth anniversary) and who added it; for deleted days, when and by whom they were deleted | Received when the user enters them in Settings or on the add-a-day screen. You can use the other features without entering them. |
| Optional If device notifications are on | Each device’s web push subscription endpoint, encryption keys, browser information (User-Agent), whether notifications are on and why they were turned off, when they were turned on and when a notification was last sent | Received when the user allows notifications on that device. |
| Automatically generated | Notification scheduling and delivery records (target device, date and time to send, the days and body text in the notification, delivery status, response code, errors and number of attempts), when first setup was completed, when the guide was viewed, and when each item was created and modified | Created by the server while you use the service. |
| Automatically collected Access logs | Access IP address, requested URL and time, browser information, response status and error logs | Recorded automatically by the server and the hosting provider when you connect. |
| When you contact us | Sender email address, the name written in the email, and the content of the inquiry | Received when the user sends an email. |
Processing needed for the features users sign up to use, such as sign-in, date sharing and notifications, is based on Article 15(1)4 of the Personal Information Protection Act (entering into and performing a contract). Optional items are processed only when the user enters them or turns on the feature. The minimum processing needed to protect the service, such as access logs, is based on subparagraph 6 of the same paragraph (legitimate interests) and does not go beyond that purpose and scope.
Dasom does not access your Gmail, Contacts, Calendar or Photos. Google user data is used only for the sign-in and profile features above and is not sold or used for ad targeting or to train general-purpose AI models. Dasom complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The Operator keeps personal information only for the periods below and, when a period ends, destroys the information without delay under Article 4.
| Item | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Sign-in account, name, birthday, nicknames, personal settings | Until you leave. Nicknames are deleted as soon as you clear them in Settings. Birthdays are a required item, so you can change yours in Settings, and it is deleted when you leave. |
| Shared dates (the day you met, days, “Days we celebrate” settings) and invite records | Until the last of the two linked people leaves. If one person leaves, the remaining person’s list stays as it is and the departed person’s link as creator is removed. An invite code can be used only for 24 hours after it is created. |
| Deleted days | Kept for 10 minutes after deletion so it can be undone; after that, a cleanup job erases the day and its notification settings. While kept, it is excluded from the list and from notifications. |
| Device subscription information and that device’s notification delivery records | Until you remove that device under “This phone” in Settings, or leave. If you turn off notifications or the subscription expires, sending stops, and the registration information remains until you remove the device. |
| Access logs | The Operator can view Vercel function execution logs for 1 hour and Supabase API and database logs for 1 day. The Operator makes and keeps no separate copies. The periods for which each provider keeps its own security records may differ. |
| Inquiry emails | Within 30 days after the inquiry has been handled |
Because Dasom charges no fees, there are no transaction records kept separately under the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce (전자상거래 등에서의 소비자보호에 관한 법률) or similar laws. If any information must be kept under law, it will be stored separately from other information only for that period, and the legal basis and items will be stated in this policy.
When someone who received an invite link or code signs in, they can see the inviter’s Dasom name before accepting. When you send an invite via KakaoTalk, the invite message, the invite code and link, and a card title that may include your name are delivered to Kakao and to the recipient the user chose. Anyone the link is forwarded to can also open the invite until it expires.
| Visible to your partner | Not visible to your partner |
|---|---|
| Your Dasom name, the birthday you added, the nickname you call your partner, the day you met, shared days and who added them, the “Days we celebrate” settings | Sign-in email, profile photo URL, authentication information, device subscription information, notification timings, times and wording, reminders set for an individual day, per-day notification muting, the day pinned to your home, display language |
The Operator does not provide personal information to third parties except for sharing the user chooses, the entrustment in Article 6, and the cases set out in Articles 17 and 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act (such as where a law has special provisions). The Operator also does not make additional use or provision without the data subject’s consent under Article 15(3) or Article 17(4) of the same Act; if it ever does, it will first publish its criteria for that decision in this policy.
The Operator entrusts the processing needed to provide the service to the companies below. This processing includes overseas transfer. Because it is entrustment and storage needed to enter into and perform the contract with users, the matters in paragraph 2 of Article 28-8 of the Personal Information Protection Act are disclosed below under paragraph 1, subparagraph 3(a) of that Article.
| Recipient and contact | Work entrusted and items transferred | Destination country, timing and method | Retention and use period |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supabase, Inc. privacy@supabase.com | Database, sign-in authentication, data storage. Account identifiers and sign-in profiles, shared dates and personal settings, device subscriptions and delivery records | Data is stored in the Republic of Korea (Seoul) and may be accessed in the course of operations and support in the United States. It is sent over an encrypted connection each time authentication, storage or sync is requested. | Each retention period in Article 3 |
| Vercel Inc. privacy@vercel.com | Serving web pages, running server functions, sending scheduled notifications. IP address, requested URL and cookies (sign-in and language), and the dates, settings and subscription information contained in requests | Server functions run in the Republic of Korea (Seoul) and may be accessed in the course of operations and support in the United States. Data is sent over HTTPS each time you connect, and static files and requests may pass through a network edge location close to the user. | While the request is being handled, and for the access log period in Article 3 |
If you do not want the overseas transfer, you can stop using the service before signing up, leave after signing up, or ask for the transfer to be stopped through the contact in Article 13. In that case, you cannot use the service of saving and sharing dates with an account.
If a processor or the work entrusted changes, we will announce it through this policy. The Operator checks that processors do not process personal information outside the purpose of entrustment, in line with each company’s terms of service and data processing terms.
Dasom uses only the cookies and browser storage needed to keep you signed in and to remember the language you chose on this device and the state of the screen. We do not use tools that collect behavioral information for advertising, visitor analytics or personalized advertising (cookies, pixels, advertising identifiers).
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-…-auth-token | Cookie | Keeping you signed in (Supabase Auth) | Until you sign out or leave, up to 400 days |
| sb-…-auth-token-code-verifier | Cookie | Protecting the Google and Kakao sign-in process | Until sign-in is complete |
| dasom-lang | Cookie | The display language chosen on this device (Korean or English). Set only when you choose one on the first screens or in Settings. | 1 year, counted again from each new choice |
| dasom:… | Browser storage (local) | The screen mode chosen on this device (light or dark), notices you closed and whether you viewed the guide on this device, when we suggested adding Dasom to your Home Screen, the number of visits, whether we asked what to call your partner, and, so that we can tell you when it changes, the last nickname your partner calls you that this device saw, with that partner’s account identifier (no days or birthdays are stored) | Until you clear your browser data |
| dasom:… | Browser storage (session) | Where to return to from another screen, list view state, save result messages | Until you close the tab or app |
| Service worker | Browser feature | Receiving web push, and a notice screen when the connection is lost. It stores no personal information such as dates. | Until you clear site data |
If you have not chosen a display language, we show Korean or English based on your device’s language setting that your browser reports (Accept-Language), and we do not store that value. The screen mode follows your device’s light or dark setting by default; a mode you choose stays only on this device and is not sent to our servers.
You can delete or block cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you block them, you cannot stay signed in, which makes Dasom difficult to use. Menu names may differ slightly depending on the browser version.
The services below are requested directly by your browser or used for features you choose. We do not send the list of anniversaries stored in Dasom, and each service’s own privacy policy also applies.
You may at any time access your personal information, request its correction, deletion or suspension of processing, and withdraw consent (Articles 35 to 37 of the Personal Information Protection Act).
Users must enter their own information accurately and must not enter the personal information of others, including their partner, without that person’s consent.
Only people aged 14 or older may sign up for Dasom, and we do not knowingly process the personal information of children under 14. If we learn that a child under 14 has signed up, we will delete that account and its information without delay. A legal representative may request access to, deletion of, or other action on a child’s personal information (Article 38(2) of the same Act).
