Help
If you get stuck using Dasom, start here. Menu names are written exactly as they appear in the app’s Settings.
Turn on notifications
Notifications are turned on separately on each phone. Each of you needs to turn them on on your own phone for both of you to get them.
iPhone and iPad
To get notifications, you need iOS 16.4 or later, and you must open Dasom from your Home Screen.
- Open us.or.kr in Safari.
- Tap the Share button at the bottom and choose “Add to Home Screen.”
- Open Dasom again from the new icon on your Home Screen and sign in. The same steps are under “Add to Home Screen” in Dasom’s Settings.
- Under “This phone” in Settings, tap “Allow notifications,” then choose “Allow” when asked.
- Tap “Send a test notification to this phone” to check that notifications arrive.
Android
- Open us.or.kr in Chrome or Samsung Internet and sign in.
- Under “This phone” in Settings, tap “Allow notifications,” then choose “Allow” when asked.
- Tap “Send a test notification to this phone” to check.
To open Dasom right away like an app, tap “Install” under “Add to Home Screen” in Dasom’s Settings, or use “Add to Home screen” or “Install app” in your browser menu. Notifications arrive even if you don’t.
Computer
You can turn them on the same way in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on Mac. Notifications for that browser must also be on in your operating system’s notification settings (Settings > Notifications on Windows, System Settings > Notifications on Mac).
When notifications don’t arrive
Check these one at a time, from the top. Most problems are solved by the first two.
- Permission: Does “This phone” in Settings show “Allowed”? If it shows “Blocked,” open the site settings next to the address bar, set Notifications to “Allow,” then tap “Check again.”
- Get notifications on this phone: The switch in the same place must be on. If it’s off, no Dasom notifications reach this phone (your partner’s notifications are unaffected).
- iPhone: Make sure you allowed notifications in Dasom opened from your Home Screen, not in a Safari tab.
- A day’s bell: If a day’s bell is off in the list, you won’t be notified about that day only.
- When to notify me: Check the timings (7 days before, Day before, On the day) and times you chose under “When to notify me” in Settings. Notifications may arrive a few minutes after the set time.
- Phone settings: Do Not Disturb or Focus, power-saving mode, and battery optimization on Android can delay or block notifications. On Android, notifications for the Chrome or Samsung Internet app must also be on in your phone’s settings.
- If you switched browsers or cleared data: Allow notifications again in that browser. You can “Remove” old devices you no longer use from the list under “This phone.”
If they still don’t arrive, contact us with your phone model and browser.
Invites and linking
- Dasom is shared by two people. An account can be linked with only one person at a time.
- Send invites via KakaoTalk or a link. An invite code works for 24 hours after it’s created; after that, make a new one.
- You can add dates on your own before your partner joins. When you later get an invite, you can preview the day-you-met date you’ll count together and choose which days to bring along.
- If you open an invite inside KakaoTalk, Google sign-in is blocked. Tap “Open in another browser,” or sign in with Kakao.
How dates are counted
- The day you met counts as day 1. Your 100th day is 99 days after the day you met.
- Dates follow the solar (Gregorian) calendar and Korea Standard Time. February 29 is celebrated on February 28 in common years.
- Your birthday is picked as a full date, year included, so Dasom also counts which birthday it is and your age.
- If you delete a day, you can undo it within 10 minutes. Both people’s notification settings for it come back too.
Sign-in accounts
- You can link both Google and Kakao to one account. Link them under “Sign-in accounts” in the “Account & Dasom” part of Settings.
- “Disconnect” removes only that sign-in method. Your dates and your link with your partner stay as they are.
- Dasom doesn’t take passwords. The security of your sign-in account is managed by Google or Kakao.
Deleting your account and your data
- Delete your account at any time with “Delete account” at the bottom of Settings. Your account, birthday, notification settings and registered devices are erased right away.
- The dates you shared stay with your partner. When both of you have deleted your accounts, the shared dates are deleted too.
- To see your information or get a copy, ask by email. We’ll handle it and let you know within 10 days.
What we collect, why, and when we delete it are in the Privacy Policy, and the conditions of use are in the Terms of Use.
